    ALBANY, Ga. (BP) -- Evangelicals were introduced to a new level of faith-based filmmaking 15 years ago when brothers Alex and Stephen Kendrick released "Flywheel," a $20,000-budget film using church members as the cast and production crew to convey biblical truth.

    "We're just amazed at what the Lord's done with it," Alex Kendrick told Baptist Press.

    The brothers, who served on staff at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., went on to produce "Facing the Giants," "Fireproof," "Courageous" and "War Room." Read More

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- The faith-based drama "Woodlawn," promoted as a potential catalyst for revival and spiritual awakening, opened in the top 10 at theaters Oct. 16-18, Box Office Mojo reported.

    Woodlawn opened in the eighth spot Oct. 16, earning $1.485 million in 1,553 theaters, and finished the weekend at number nine, earning a total of $4.1 million, Box Office Mojo said. Read More

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- The Kendrick Brothers' "War Room" opened in first place in box office sales on the single night of Aug. 28, but finished second to "Straight Outta Compton" over the entire opening weekend ending Aug. 30, Box Office Mojo reported.

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- LifeWay Christian Resources has partnered with filmmakers Stephen and Alex Kendrick to provide churches with resources to accompany their latest film, "War Room," which spotlights prayer, its power and purpose.
